Autumns pain

As i stare out the window

watching the leaves change

I realize my tears are gone

but my heart still feels the same

I wanna be happy but

it hurts when I try

I still put on a smile

only I know its a lie

I'm tired of hoping and

living in the past

I'm tired of writing and reading,

wishing the pain didnt last

So as I write this poem

watching the leaves blow

I hold on to my hopes and dreams

and just beg my heart to let go.
