I Could Have Been (Part II)

by Mark Spencer   Dec 4, 2009

I could have been a murderer,
Perhaps an orphaned child.
I might even be a victim,
My innocence defiled.

I might have become a rapist,
Committed many crimes.
Or maybe a gangsta rapper,
Spreading hate with my rhymes.

I could have been the Anti-Christ
Embracing dark pursuits,
Or another Jack the Ripper
Dissecting prostitutes.

It's better that I never live,
Than take a chance on me.
Perhaps you'll save humanity
If I should cease to be.

So thank you for preventing this,
My life will not begin.
Better that you not take a risk
On what I could have been.
