Even a Sparrow Soars

by Corinne   Dec 8, 2009

Even a sparrow soars
As its tiny soul
Climbs to great heights

Have you seen it?
Wings flat against the body
Brown bullet
Aerodynamically
Slicing through the air

Covering distances
In a twinkling
That we lumbering humans
Take minutes to travel

Surely they can reach heaven
More easily than we

I will look forward to seeing them in heaven!!! very nicely done and so simple in the wording to make it a pleasure to read. Maybe I'll see a sparrow today and think of your work. Bravo!

To the untrained eye, a sparrow ... to the poet, an inspiration

We are all God's creatures and beauty is everywhere, we just need eyes to see. Another beautiful and well observed poem from you.

    Corinne,

I was very emotional when I began to read this, because of something that is happening to me now..but as I began to read it all fell from me...your words really moved me and in some strange way gave me the feeling all will be alright again one day, like you sometimes do when you read something really beautiful:)

I don't know if they are there sooner btw, I think that once we are released of our cage, we are just as fast;)

    God bless,

    5/5 Ingrid
