On a dark stormy afternoon
thunder crackles, lightning flashes
over the hills, over the ocean
continuously repeating,
Lengths shorter
between each flash and crackle
Headlights beaming on the streets
rain falling on each object
then suddenly,
a final crackle, a final flash
the rain stops, clouds clear the sky
calm and peaceful,
the sun begins to shine.
