I did not see the movie but your words have a powerful message in them. War is awful and the aftermath even worse. Well done

An excellent review of war, and the fall out of it. I am against war, totally and completely. But support our soldiers and grieve for all they go through. Well done girl

This truly portrays the horror and brutalness of war and the effects of it on a soldier. A striking write with a message about war and how we should support our troops, after all they go through. God bless you!

OMG Temps I haven't seen this movie yet but I know when I do it will bring me to tears.

Your words gave me chills as I fought so very hard to hold back the tears.
So very heart touching this write is.
And though I have not seen the movie yet, your words have made me really want to see it.

Makes the reader really think what they would do if faced with this situation. How they would feel afterward with these torturing thoughts living in their mind.
I know it really made me think!

An innocent life is taken leaving you..
    damaged forever.
    ^^^
Your ending line is a heart stopper!
And the entire piece took my breath away.

Temps I would love to see a part 2 of this poem as an Interior monologue poem. Where you adopt the persona of the soldier. I know you would pen a wonderful piece.

    Very touching read Temps!
Wish I had more votes left because it would certainly have my vote. Not just for its literary value but also for the feeling it leaves the reader long after the read.
I'm still thinking about it, that is how much of a deep impact it had on me.
