waiting by the phone anxious for that sound

did my best to keep my feet on the ground

i looked for you where we used to play together,
a place that we called ours forever
sadly you weren't there; that's what i've found

i'm no longer beside you, i'm not anywhere to be seen,
i'm gone from the picture, no longer on the canvas; that's what i've found

by someone else, a queen you will be crowned
an honor i don't have to give, for i am no longer your king; that's what i've found

i waited patiently... i searched meticulously..
but i realized that in your heart... i'm nowhere to be found.
