I like its simplicity, and that it hits the point every verse. Love and desperation come hand in hand, and you will find that one day in the future you will be lifted, when that desperate feeling turns into acceptance: that the love is lost, it will not return. You can hope that forgiveness will be the least you can get, but even closure has a price.
