Kiss In The Wind

by Angie   Dec 15, 2009

Kiss In The Wind

it was a cold day in January
snow and ice covered the ground
bare trees swayed in the wind
the sun was no where to be found

people were gathered together talking about you
some crying and clinging to each other
a man of the lord said a few words
as I silently stood there looking around

we slowly walked away to the sound
of shovels pounding the frozen Earth
and as snowflakes started to gently fall
I glanced up into the white sky smiling

and blew one last kiss in the wind

*Dedicated to my grandma 1916-1997; you're always in my heart

This was a great dedication to your grandmother. It flowed from start to finish as though it only happened yesterday.

Hi Ang :)Good to read another poem of yours. Man i miss you!.... thought this was absolutely a wonderful dedication to your grandma. I lost my grandma in Feb 08 and its so hard without her. I cried thinking of her today. A love between a granddaughter and grandmother is so beautiful to me. I loved your details in this poem especialy the part about banging the shovel into the frozen Earth. Not only could I hear it, but I could picture it as well. I loved it:)
    Awesome write dear!
