A Deceptive Feeling

by Shinobi   Dec 16, 2009

The Deceptive Smile gleams back
In the light of a hundred beams
As the predator awaits to attack
It's pray shouts, those blood freezing screams

At first it was calm, like the morning sun
The waves slided solemnly in deep blue
We were together, swinging on that thin line
But now, you're not the person I then knew

As the hour advanced, the predictable end
The blade is sharp enough for a kill
Back then I didn't know where I stand
So my heart was stroke, by that cold steel

Never know what to expect
There are always unstoppable truths
My mind wasn't clear back when
You tore me from my living, solid roots

Great job. This one sort of had my mind wondering. I was trying to figure out the 'plot' of the poem. Is it talking about heartbreak? Hmmm. Anyway. Amazing write. I love when I read dark poems and it gets me thinking. I went back and read it a second time just to let it sink in. Overall, great format. 5/5
