It was a hot summer night
with the wind blowing and the sun shining
I saw your smile and your eyes
right then I got butterflies
you were just right though the timing was wrong
talking with you for hours was so comfortable
never opened up to someone that fast
but it just came out, natural, like we've known each other for some length of time.
I didn't know what was going to happen next
I waited till I saw you again,
though I knew the next day we would be together again,
I fell asleep smiling.
While the girls got ready, I wanted to look perfect
with my make up and hair done just right
I wanted to "wow" you and make you smile
never thought sooner or later id fall for you.
You told me I looked beautiful and you looked great to
the start of a night that felt so wrong but again so right
We went for a few walks just you and me
talking like we had been friends forever
You took my hand and danced with me
while the music played I felt like I was in paradise
you held me close, I laid my head on your shoulder
hand and hand we danced till the night ended.
The time ended quickly with a hug goodnight
I saw you one more time for a quick moment or two
you left with another hug, and we promised to keep in touch
we talked for hours that night when you arrived home
Things started, I never thought I would be so lucky to have you
I looked forward to our sundays,
they kept me going through the days
being with you was the highlight of my week.
You were perfect, my picture perfect guy
you made me smile and the things you said felt so right
never thought I would be sitting here saying to myself
"I miss him so much, where did i go wrong?"
