Summer With You

Green trees cover
the skyline making
it hard to see the sun.
Stretch my neck
to watch the birds
fly through the
clouds. Wish I
were with them
free flying in the air.

Warm winds tickle
the back of my neck
making me smile,
while holding your
hand tightly.This is
what peace really feels
like,being this close
to you.

Sipping cold lemonade
listening to the laughter
of a small child. I
remember those days.
Looking into your
eyes, knowing that you
care for me as I
care for you.

Not noticing the stars
appearing as the sun
takes its leave. I
only see the light
coming from your heart
as I spend my summers
with you.
