Taste

by Kuro   Dec 20, 2009

Do you know the taste of sorrow?
Watching the smiles you long to borrow
Like drinking vinegar through a straw
Wondering why you were born with flaw

Do you know the taste of defeat?
In your mind desperate to retreat
Swallow it whole with a spoonful of lies
Knowing you will never gain the prize

There are many things that I distaste
The air I breathe has gone to waste
Vile truth I've learned to embrace
What damage is done, I can't erase

One last truth for me to swallow
Empty inside, I am hollow
Do you know the taste of steel?
Pull the trigger to seal the deal

this poem in a special way touched me...let me show u m favorite 1st:

What damage is done, I can't erase

One last truth for me to swallow
    Empty inside, I am hollow
Do you know the taste of steel?
Pull the trigger to seal the deal

despite the flow of you words..and the expressions you brilliantly made up.

the sadness you revealed..was too bitter..

What damage is done, I can't erase ?
yes thats True..there is nothin that we can do about the damage already done ..but thats why we have future.

Do you know the taste of sorrow?
Watching the smiles you long to borrow

I can relate..many as well would.. who doesnt know when he is through extreme sadness the feelin of unable to be happy...unable to smile..faithless than to be able to smile from deep down the heart or even do nothin about it..

i think using borrow @ smile ..is perfect..

    absolutely 5/5

    Do you know the color
    Of tomorrows sky
    And can you imagine
    The reasons why?

    Tell me something
    I have never seen

    I will share a reason
    For better dreams

This poem is unreal Lol. It speaks of exactly how i feel. The first stanza drew me in straight away...

Do you know the taste of sorrow?
Watching the smiles you long to borrow
Like drinking vinegar through a straw
Wondering why you were born with flaw

I too long to "borrow" smiles.

"drinking vinegar through a straw" this spoke to me of how bitter life has become, Lol Very well worded.

Depression can make us feel so defeated as you have said in theses lines..

Do you know the taste of defeat?
In your mind desperate to retreat

And yes, its like the very air we breathe is being wasting by our depression,,, sitting there, Lol

There are many things that I distaste
The air I breathe has gone to waste

How empty and hollow this thing can make us feel...

    Empty inside, I am hollow

Very well written. Excellent use of words and expression. Well done and best wishes...

    Olwin.
