The Sulphur Butterfly

by Beautiful Chaos   Dec 21, 2009

Yellow crystal wings
Graze lazy lava rivers
This realm of death and fire
So beautiful

Brimstone falls from the sky
Like the tears of a child
Breath taking
Yet heart wrenching

Trees of ash
Wave a sorrowed hello
Before dispersing
Into sulfuric winds

This flight of a butterfly
Draws no pity
A wasteland awash with awe
At the sight of freedom

Wow, what a wild imagination you have here. Your words depicts the picture beautifully. The first stanza just leaves me want to read more. It's a very depressing event that happen here, but no doubt you have done an excellent job for writing this. It's a poem thats worth reading more than once.

    Keep it up

Goodness gracious, I loved this!!...Your first stanza is superb! Very descriptive. My mind was totally picturing everything you were describing. What I love about a poem is opening with an interesting line or stanza and ending with one. It was awesome, you did just that!
    5/5 for sure :)
