Not Enough

by haunted   Dec 21, 2009

Tenderly stroking the pencil gripped in her fingers,
Her mind goes blank.
All words disappear and she
Starts to cry.

She writes the first stanza,
Her heart aching, her pulse racing.
A sob escapes her lips,
As she starts to shake.

Delicate and fragile,
No one could fully understand the
Pain she went through.
Nothing really matters anymore, but she won't stop caring.

She glares at the piece of paper,
Forcing an idea to appear.
Her fingers are numb, and she sadly realizes
Words just aren't enough.

She feels her heart erupt into melancholy,
Having no mercy, no longer concealed.
Fear of hurting herself,
She sprints out of the room, not looking back.

Captivated by her insanity,
She knows she can't finish
That poem, for she'd admit:
A dead soul was all she was.

Deep down, she knew all along,
That she'd have to hide this anyway;
She couldn't bear to let it out.
She couldn't bear for them to know.
