Through the blood

by Lemon Squeezy   Dec 21, 2009

Hypnotized by wretchedness,
Wrapped in filthy rags,
I walk a lonesome path,
Where time subsequently lags.

The road is broad, the gate is wide
Upon the path I trod,
There is no hope save the one,
The risen Son of God.

Death may lurk behind my back,
And sorrow may be his mate
But I've a friend who death can match
He shed his blood to clear the slate.

Now I can walk in Righteousness,
I've been loosed from sinful chains,
For its by his grace and through his blood,
That I am spared eternal pains.

No other way could I be free,
From all my wretched sin,
Save through the blood of Christ,
He is the only way to truely win.

No longer am I lost in wretched sin,
No longer do i tread a path so dark,
Now I walk a joyous path,
Upon a new journey I embark.
