There is no easy way from the earth to the stars,
No compromise to be lost, where sacrifice is found.
When scratches do not marr, and blemishes do scar
There is no reason in jealousy, no point to envy.
Where past is a blade, blunted by experience and age
Still sharp enough to sever light, cleft time,- cut air,
There is no lesson to be taught, no moral to be learnt.
Minds either quiver and sustain, or shudder and break;
For all things change, and we must change.
But when the movements of us become liquid emotion,
And our memories become the only precious moments;
Only then can scars, sacrifices and sane minds be an answer
Not for you. Not for me. But for us.
