Charmed

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 29, 2009

Who is that singing fairytale
perched upon the doorstep
speaking like a mighty gale
in colored and new tongues?

Each time she rings my bell
I run towards the entrance
then I hear her say farewell
trailing snowflakes in mid-air.

I want to know more of her enticing story.

Who is that smiling dove
poised upon the porch
playing her harp from above
in vanilla twilight skies?

Each time she visits my bed
I reach to touch her skin
then see that love has fled
electric sparks hanging loose.

I need to know more of her enticing story.

She has got me chasing
the world with blind eyes
soon memories will be erasing
and she'll be but a fantasy.

Write down her ancient name
for she is the tempting mistress
and I the lion she will calmly tame
with a kiss of magic lashes.

I now play Romeo in her never-ending love story.
