Walking In His Footsteps

I am an ignorant baby dove
catching myself in lying traps
not opening my heart to love
too fearful for what might occur.

I don't know how to fly
so instead I just stand still
as time crawls cautiously by
not giving a second glance.

God delivers trustworthy friends
who give me hope once more
while pure confidence ascends
I immerse in eternal happiness.

Slowly but surely I break
the stubborn forceful walls
and anxiously I fully wake
colored words of courage.

I find out who I really am
discovering new abilities
I seriously condemn
any sinful temptations.

Rainbow mountains speak
carrying echoes with my name
true love flows like a creek
white waters of new life.

Gradually day by day
I think of fresh ideas
and find much better ways
to amplify His voice.

This year has taught me well
using my gifts the best
I run to share and tell
the world about salvation.
