Dance Of A Butterfly

by Mimed Lovette   Dec 31, 2009

The coral blue stings the eyes
of anyone who passes by.
No time for a second look,
it's just a lonesome butterfly.

Her wings flap against the wind,
as tiny raindrops proclaim their land.
The world as seen was large enough
to be enveloped by a certain hand.

Gracing onlookers with one swift dance,
her body sways against the crowd.
Embracing glances bestowed upon
before strutting, looking proud.

They continued their journey right pass her,
it's just a lonesome butterfly.
One second of fame painstakingly earned,
one second of fame she couldn't deny.

I agree this is a good work and a pleasant read. I really liked the simple nature of it and the way it flowed all around me. I think you have a nice style and hope to see more. Bravo

Oh my gosh! This poem totally made me chuckle! Because here you described a butterfly enjoy the stares of onlookers and enjoying the attention and it reminded me of a few people I know. This could easily describe people too, but you contorted it into the life of a butterfly. incredible!
