Love Never Fails

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 11, 2010

My shattered soul waits
-for my prince to come
riding on his white horse-
maybe I am following a path
that leads to a dead end.

My void mind is filled
-with calm memories
of fatherly hands holding-
maybe I need to move on
and chase bigger dreams.

My dull imagination opens
-to a place where brokenness
knows no vigil existence-
maybe my life isn't over
and there is a truthful way.

Enriching waters nourish
-and quench my wild thirst
to know someone's there-
maybe I will be taken care of
brought to believe in hope.

Soft leaves whisper comfort
-of a great fruit that heals
never bringing destruction-
maybe I should take a bite
it might just change everything.

Tingling warmth soothes
-on this one gift alone
it seems I can sustain-
maybe I will tell all
of a never-ceasing plan.

My touched heart overflows
-you have filled my cup
with faithful goodness-
maybe I have found Him
who I can place trust in.

Kisses of 'I'll never go' fly
-lingering on each thought
for I am not a forgotten child-
maybe I don't want the future
but live for what you've given.

Genuine smiles seep through
-caressing every what if
with peaceful consolation-
maybe this is why I was made
to sing of your eternal love.

I liked how personal this was. It was very open and free flowing. Almost like you where here reading it to me. I like how well your words personified your emotions. Everything went together so well and made this coherent piece. I got so many different feelings when I read this and none of them were too dominant. Everything was well placed and said all that needed to be said. Another wonderful write form you :) Nik
