The Daughter You Never Had. xx

by Baby Rainbow   Jan 11, 2010

I wish I could go back in time
Go right back and make you mine.
To know you from the very start
Never let anyone break your heart.

For every tear that you had cried
I'd make sure they all got dried.
And every time you couldn't smile
I'd tickle you for just a while.

I'd try and protect you form any pain
Never let anyone hurt you again.
I'd give you cuddles if you felt sad
I'd be like the daughter you never had.

Saffie. xx

What can I say, I am deeply touched reading this. I do not have a daughter of my own to love and spoil, but just reading this poem brings out the emotions. Your write is simple, from the heart and I am sure the person for whom it was written would have been touched more than I if he got to read it.

What you illustrated here was unselfish and unconditional love for a father figure. He must be someone special. I wish I could fit his shoes. Adorable little piece. :)

    I really liked your poem.
    Although in this line,
"I'd try and protect you form any pain" I think you mean from?

    Overall, great job :)
