Keep on Shining

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 13, 2010

Lord it seems so many are very ungrateful
And boldly express heartfelt doubt
To the point of being abnormally hateful
I just want to let my feelings out
The sun shines beautifully from above
As the world turns so bleakly and blindly
Awkwardly many would blissfully love
To arrogantly, boastfully, and unkindly
Believe creation came about accidentally

As we anxiously await the seasons
With no desire to adventurously explore
The harmony of rhythm, or the reasons
For the things we absentmindedly adore
Boldly some seem to be busily whining
While the winds are blowing too briskly annually
The Sacred Son bravely keeps on shining
Faith is truly growing stimulated manually
Believe nothing came about accidentally

A hand on the pulse of the human condition? This was extremely well written. Your writes bring many thougnts these days. This poem makes me feel like just walking around with a crowd is a leap of faith. For me, that's a lot. Well done.

Gees, I wish I knew where to start or how to word what I want to say right now. Maybe it'd be best to first state, I LOVED it!..One thing I truly admire reading are peoples poems about faith. I especially loved that you wrote creation didn't come about accidentally. We need more believers to proclaim their faith like that as well.

Best line out of the whole poem. You wrote with so much imagery in this poem, and I would have expected to read "sun"....it was just beautifully tied in the fact that you used "son" instead!...I just really really enjoyed this poem more than words can say :)

Full of insight. All of your poems are filled with truth and devotion. I loved everything about this piece. There is nothing I would change. 5/5

I really do love your views on love and life. My favorite line would be, "As the world turns so bleakly and blindly. Awkwardly many would blissfully love to arrogantly, boastfully, and unkindly..." many people are ungrateful. and it's sad. great write :)
