Loving You, Loving Me

by Soulful Ensemble   Jan 13, 2010

I love you in so much as you love me.
Is that how it must be?
Can I not care for you if you don't care for me?
What is love if we can't all be free?

Looking in your eyes I rise
Like an upward reaching flower,
Growing towards the sun, real high
With love's mighty power.

I pick you up like dust
That slips between my hands.
Just like cold metal rusts
My heart breaks and there it lands.

I wonder if you'd look and stare
And never really care.
I've learned that with you all is fair
No matter when or where.

I don't know if you hold my hand in yours
With loving eyes or lusting passions.
I was coming to kiss you
But apathy for you has burried every action.

I guess its true I only love
In so much as you'll love me.
What is love if we can't be free?
Is that how it must be?
