Requiem for the lost

by Rocky   Jan 14, 2010

Tonight i dance alone
Through the blackened trees
As the shimmering moonlight
Reflects off tendrils of mist
Beneath my feet
IT embraces my spirit
In the purest sorrow
For upon the wind
As it whispers through the leaves
I can hear a distant voice
As it sings a song for me
A tune as ancient as the land
The mountains
And the seas
Wordless
For words could never express
The sadness
The heartbreak
And the melancholy
A lament so beautiful
And yet so haunting
That I am left with tears in my eyes
For there is nothing else
For me to do
but to dance alone
in this winter forest tonight
a million miles away
Trapped behind the masks of a ghost
A slave to my own fears
And doubts
And twisted beliefs
And so with this emptiness
that echoes deep inside
I too raise my voice
To join in the requiem
For two souls
Lost in the dark
Only wanting to be free

I thought this piece was pretty strong and rather unique to be honest. The flow wasn't bad and the imagery was done really well. I loved the lines "I can hear a distant voice
As it sings a song for me
A tune as ancient as the land" definately worth a 5/5 nice work
