Where did the innocence go?
does anyone even know?
i miss those days of carefree laughter
when there was nothing to be chasing after.
now its different, worse somehow
whatever happened to living in the now?
the people i once new no longer exist
and although the world hasn't ceased to persist,
my childhood world has since ended
because it was on the innocence it depended.
over the years this innocence has disappeared
in its place chaos that can't be cleared
i feel so small, powerless in this world and lost
sure you can abandon your innocence but at what cost?
that's what we get for our rash decision making,
no one considers the risks they are taking
i guess I've come to a conclusion I'm not ready to admit
our innocence is gone forever and there's nothing we can do about it.
