Story of the sparrow

by Nobody   Jan 19, 2010

Caged in a world of endless dark eyes
secretly desiring for open air, blue skies,
stretched wings, gliding through the breeze

sugar coated fingertips lingeringly caress,
leisurely stroke my weak satin wings
damaged affection once more betray me

tattered songs no longer hold their tune
whispered voices are no longer fulfilling their roles
breaking, cracking, tearing both our hearts

eyes ease shut accepting the afflictions
tears of split words slither down soft skin
the blood shed now staining the floor

injuries worsen slowly we are crumbling
trying to hold on to what has disappeared
i know you hate to see me slowly dying

its time to set us both free...
