To the Distant Shore

by Timothy   Jan 22, 2010

So, it finally has come to pass,
Leaving the world, the sky, the water, and the grass;
Heaven awaits you, it has waited so long,
Glory is rising, hallelujah is the song.

Pain and regret, nevermore,
Now you transport to that distant shore;
Many left before you, over many, many moons,
Siblings, husband, daughter and sons, gone too soon.

Grandma, I wasn't close to you as an adult,
Of course, I know it's all my fault;
A scared little boy, who never became a man,
Wishes you well, as you take God's hand.
