Snowflakes and Sunshine

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 25, 2010

You breathe winter
speaking of chilled tongues
once upon a maiden's cream brushed lip.

You blow kisses
woven from silver unbroken butterflies
that ice skate atop frozen air veins.

You are mine
highly noble son of December
will you fly me unto celestial lighted veils?

I sing summer
igniting silent souls with determined purpose
to break free and paint rainbow faces.

I move gaily
giving many heavenly lit illusions
that melt away cold-hearted never.

I am yours
daughter of ardent June
will you let me color your cement shadow?

You send shivers
to keep me from self destruction
of contagious heated laughter.

I set fire
and show you the bright side
of dying black roses near imprisonment.

Two opposites join
harmonious love stricken at last
as fire and ice fill void spaces.
