You're saying it doesn't matter,
Telling everyone you don't care,
And yet quite publicly,
You show it's still there,
You listen to the words,
The foolish advice
But nothing sets in,
For he was your only vice,
The words they string all seem short,
The echos in your head of stronger thoughts,
And in your ears his voice it rings,
And you have to deal with the hate it brings,
You thought that this would make you strong,
But the jury show that you were wrong,
You blag your way through breaths and sighs,
And in the night you know it's all lies,
You push away the ones that are close,
Just to know you can, I suppose,
To seek out those you know are bad,
And speak the words that make you sad,
It takes such effort to be who you are,
It takes so much not to take things too far,
You could, you know, feed the hunger,
Sleep around and use the talents you can conjure,
But in the morning light where would you be?
Still messed up and left to see.
At times you want to run away,
From all the things you know they say
All the secrets they lie in wait,
Until your stuck and find self-worth too late.
