Miscued

by Brittany   Jan 29, 2010

Confused, I sit alone.
All these mistakes for which I wish to atone.
The golden, gossamer heart I own.
Begs for mercy from this world unknown.

We know this world, you and I.
We see behind its ugly disguise.
We read the lies behind sighs and goodbyes.
We sit and watch everyone compromise.

But me and you, we were miscued.
Too blind to that world to start anew.
Too many memories we'd have to undo.
So much, too much that we've already been through.

So about us, I know we're long gone.
It hurts me to know that I must move on.
But I'll always think of you when I hear our song.
And I'll remember the times that you sang along.
