In a Distant Land

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Feb 1, 2010

In a distant land of waterfalls and flowers,
What lacks is a feeling of pain.
The birds chirp and all is in harmony,
Rainbows followed by heavy rain.

The mermaids swim in the lagoons,
And colorful fishes move about in the stream.
What a beautiful haven that exists inside our minds,
This imaginary land of dreams.

A land where everything is fair,
A land where delight is the rule.
No hatred, no cruelty and no misery,
A place non-accessible for fools.

Trees and grass of all colors,
The sky so full of twinkling stars.
This land that is so perfect,
This land that is so far.

When reality seems to bite you,
And when you feel like you want to scream.
Just close your eyes and imagine,
You're in that land of dreams.

Your dreams are stronger than reality,
Imagination is a weapon that will help you much.
So pure, so real and so innocent,
Untainted by reality's touch.

Close your eyes and dream of that distant land,
You will feel no pain.
Everything will turn out to be alright,
And the sun always shines after the rain.

*No one can destroy your dreams. Always remember that.

Nice imagery and word flow to bad we can not make it so for real.

Thanks for the reminder of being able to escape to the land of dreams when things get rough in life. Well done.
