Will you stay?

Will you ever know
that there a part I'll never show
a dark part of my past
that has doomed us not to last

theres a secret in my smile
to see it may take a while
but i fear even you will never see
the true person that is me

or maybe it's because you don't look
like I'm a page you skipped in this book
maybe it's better this way
maybe i can keep the darkness at bay

but still i have this fear
that one day my past will re-appear
and when that happens
...will you still stay here?
