Humming softly to myself
while walking through my days,
I don't know what tomorrow holds
or when my dreams will come true
but I'm trying to live for today.
I don't know how my world will appear
when I wake up again,
will it be heaven or will it be hell?
I can't say I honestly know

Yesterday still hurts me
and I'm living with my ghosts,
I've got the scars to show my past
in the signatures on my heart

Waking up to face my present
and the sometimes very long empty days
and where I find myself
may hurt me some some days
but I'm trying to live for today.
The future may still scare me
filled with all the unknowns,
wondering if my dreams will come true
and if they do then when
but I'm trying to live for today.
I've got a past I may regret
and a future I still don't see clearly,
a present that can be hard sometimes
but I'm really incredibly blessed,
I choose to live today.
