Days Gone By

by Beautiful Chaos   Feb 6, 2010

Dreams of desert
Barren beauty
Harsh exterior
Concealing oasis's

Soft rivers
Flowing beneath the surface
Hidden by time
Forgotten in history

Flowering cacti
Life giving
Underneath a tough skin
Of hurtful stings

Awe found
In the survival
Of God's
Bold creations

Lost in flames
Of dusty old bones
That burn as though
Their pain still lingered

Forgetting that once
This sandy daydream
Was a lush garden
In days gone by
