Serenity

by Ellie K   Feb 7, 2010

The storm has passed, waves crashing calmly to the rocks
From what was quite crazy, has now turned quite serene,
There stands a figure, a figure looking out to sea,
To see what you may ask,
To gaze upon the tranquil evening sun,
A sun that burns into the ferocious sea,
A scene that makes ones mind wander,
wandering to a distant tranquil serenity.

She stands alone at the edge of the pier,
Waves crash beneath her, spraying her,
The cool salty air caressing her chilled face,
Shivers running down her spine,
The sky so dark, yet so bright,
She inhales deeply, looking up in the clouds,
And there she see's, a hand coming down,
Down to meet her, to whisk her away,
A voice whispering to her,
Take my hand, we'll travel afar,
To, to infinity and beyond, together as one.

Together as one, the land so bleak before us,
We traveled so far, felt a lot of pain,
The land so baron, so mature, yet unloved,
Flowers stand alone, but so tall,
Birds swooping and diving all around,
Looking for their next feud,
People standing small, oblivious to all,
Insanity peaks, love fails, fear rises,

I like it how you start this off but it almost seems like it's missing something. I'm not sure, maybe it's just me.

    Good write, overall.
