Rest In Paradise

-- this is a poem i made for my grandpa & the preacher read it @ the service : )
RIP. Elbert Louis Keel.
02/05/10

It was early Friday morning
When our life's had changed
From now on I must say
Things wont be the same

It was truly something I wasn't expecting
But hey things happen for a reason
It tore us all up inside
When momma found him not breathing

Tears were flowing nonstop
With nothing to say
Nothing but sad frowns
Were expressed that day

It feels like a dream
And this is still unreal
Its hard to even start to express
Just how i really feel

He was a good man
And I'm sure you would agree
He would always tell me to push myself
And be the best I can be

He always got me what i wanted
He even got me things i didn't need
He told me to stay in school
And strive to succeed

He would make me laugh
Every time he walked out his door
Whenever he would tell jokes
I would always want more

I know one thing
He is in a better place
He is with grandma now
Which is something we must face

He was an amazing person
A friend and a loving father
And i must say
He was the best grandfather
