Her Lovely Eyes

by Tori Hicks   Feb 16, 2010

O, how her eyes
Reflect the light of the moon
Through the misty skies...
Deep and black
Hiding the sins
Of a life drained away.
Her eyes, however lovely,
Have turned sinister.
The honey brown they once possessed
Is now a dark and hateful black.
Everyone around can see her fading away
Into a world from which she can't return.
She knows who she once was
Before he came around
And sunk his teeth into her waiting skin.
But now she's gone,
And so is he,
And the only thing left is memories...
Memories of the girl who loved sunflowers
And walking through the garden
And playing the piano...
But she cannot let these things enter her mind for long
And she never lets it reach her heart,
Because if she holds onto these memories
Of the girl she used to be
Then her lovely eyes
Will cry...
