My Mayday

by xoxShorteexox   Feb 16, 2010

Yeah, this is pretty lame, but bare with me. While I try to get back my poetic skills I once had.

I came looking for you only to find,
you'd left with every piece of my mind,
searching for your lovely name,
only to be left with my shame.

Hoping to find some piece of the puzzle,
only to have my mouth covered with a muzzle,
haunting dreams of that dreadful night,
trying to hold myself together in this fight.

Hunting for a reason for this fate,
when all I find is myself at the gate,
hell is calling my self-destructive name,
to be taken so early; what a shame.

Searching for your sweet face,
only for your lies to hit me like mace,
dreaming of that wonderful day,
where you were my mayday.

This isn't lame at all! I actually like it, especially because of its flow and rhymes. I enjoyed reading this poem.
