Guide Us Worthy Lord

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 18, 2010

Before me cries your people's scattered hearts
once united but now thrown apart
Why must I feel the end drawing near
how can I rid myself of these tears?
Bring your light into our darkened eyes
write your truth and banish sinful lies
that this world seems to wrap itself in
all of this time where have you been?

But as I contemplate more and more
I learn that we can win this continuous war
By fully trusting our lives in your hand
and bringing peace across angry dry land.
Please direct eager lips to speak of your word
through every nation let it be heard
I need to hear your forgiving voice
that distributes only one right choice.
