My Perfect, not-so-perfect girl

by Chris   Feb 20, 2010

(this is actually a song....)

With her brown eyes,
and fiery hair,
to make her cry,
I wouldn't dare,

But she looks in the mirror,
sees her face,
and her body seems,
so out of place,

she sees the ads,
sees the girls,
the twisted views,
of this damaged world,

in His image
she shines bright,
and to that boy, she is so right,

She's made mistakes,
been treated wrong,
her heart aches,
longs and longs,

for the man,
brought in her life,
who in God's time,
he meets her eyes,

he walks in,
a fresh tattoo,
she smiles at him,
it fills the room,

he sees her body,
and her mind,
learns her pain,
but stays by her side,

he won't be,
like the ones,
who took and took,
then left her broke,

in his eyes,
she is pure,
she is wonder,
beauty, more,

never leave,
or forsake,
to take advantage,
not his to take,

when she cries,
hurts inside,
he holds her hand,
pulls close to his side,

through the rejection,
through the sin,
through the illness,
cancer, fear,

they stayed together,
weathered the storm,
love will always,
last and endure,

she is beauty,
sweet and kind,
forgiven, loved,
truly mine.
