Relentless Hero

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Feb 22, 2010

It doesn't matter what you say or do,
As long as you don't matter inside.
You no longer mean anything to me emotionally,
And internally I've pushed you aside.

I seek no revenge, fellow human,
For with my silence you will feel great scorn.
I did not fight for a lifetime of a clean heart,
So that hatred can be born.

Say what you may want to,
Keep on piercing with your words.
How do great people become great anyways?
If they do not face the scum of this world?

Your verbal poison enters one ear and exits the other,
A mountain does not falter by the strike of a few stones.
And every time a tyrant appears through the nick of time,
A relentless hero is born.

* Victory belongs to the most persevering. - Napoleon Bonaparte

What a powerful write. To me this shows with mental strength we can make it past those in our lives that try to make us falter. Great poem with a wonderful message.

I agree with Jeff, a nice story you have written. I think perhaps I have met a few relentless heroes, just a few. Well done.
