Deaf

by Tori Hicks   Feb 23, 2010

Can't you hear me crying out for help?
Can't you hear me?
I'm right in front of you and I'm screaming.

You're close enough to touch me
But are you close enough to care?
You could save me if you try.

Can't you hear my cries of pain?
Won't you listen?
It's far too strong for me to say out loud.

Don't you see that you're deaf?
That you can't hear the words
Inside my silence.

I wish that you could read my mind
Because maybe then you wouldn't be so
Deaf.
