Rain

by Miss Kelly   Feb 23, 2010

The rain started falling to the ground,
Clapping harshly against the pavement.
The thunder growled in the sky,
Sound growing louder and louder.
I stood in the middle of the parking lot,
And I didn’t even wonder why.

My jeans were soaked,
My feet were wet,
I felt the rain run down my back.
Holding my arms out beside me,
I felt everything inside of me,
Anger, pain, and anguish.

My life was tumbling around me,
There was nothing I could do.
I wanted to put the pieces together,
But there was no way.
I needed to get it together,
But what was the point.

I felt the world spin underneath my feet,
And so I began to twirl.
I looked up to the sky,
Closing my eyes to keep the rain out.
The raindrops fell into my mouth,
I wanted to scream out.

The rain was falling to the ground,
Clapping harshly against the pavement.
The thunder growled in the sky,
Sound growing louder and louder.
There I stood in the middle of the parking lot,
And I wondered why.
