Love this poem, touches me on a personal level. A homeless man I had seen around town on his bicycle died a few years back, killed by a couple of "kids" from well to do families(no charges); I fought for him in the local paper, volunteered for Hospice & asked what happened to the remains of paupers, actually felt the weight of human life unclaimed in my hands. Heavy but light... that is how your poem struck me. |
