Not worth her poetry

by Chelsey   Mar 2, 2010

You're not worth her poetry; you're not worth her time
But when she writes about you, this is how she puts you into rhyme...

God please help the man who did me wrong
We haven't talked, it's been so long
He's lost and broken, he's too far gone
It's too late to make it better, I've moved on

I've found a man, who gives me love he never could
A part of me should still be hurting, I know I should
But I'm over it, the pain, I thought he understood
He hides his pain under hats, masks, and hoods

I drive by his street and I wonder if he's ok
Has he found another girl to give away?
Does she get on her knees as well and beg for him to stay?
Does he slip further in sin throughout his days?

He's too far gone, it's too late, and it really is too bad
That I've slowly forgotten the good times we had
The happy moments were over ridden by the times I was sad
Now there's nothing left of us and to a certain extent I'm glad

He's not worth her poetry, but she can't help but write
Of how she could give her all, and always put up a fight
She gave him a choice; he chose to leave that night
Now his life is going haywire and hers is going right

But when she writes about you, this is how she puts you into rhyme...
You're not worth my poetry, you're not worth my time

Beautifully written, I enjoyed the rhythm. Very relatable, It definitely made me think about self worth and that if you aren't with someone who doesn't respect you they aren't worth the time. Inspiring (:

I love the repetition. Great flow to it too. And not your typically love poem, but something really different.

I love the way you write and will certainly read more (you're added to my favorites now :D)

I think that this was very touching and relatable. The beat was a little off for me, or maybe I just wasn't reading it the way you intended it to be read, I don't know. But it was very good poem with a great story line. Very unique. 5/5
