No Love Tonight

by Ares   Mar 9, 2010

Drops of rain against my head,
Just as well they all seem dead.
Darkest skies form all above,
No, she doesn't want my love.

Carry out your darkest deed,
Just be sure that you don't need,
Another price that's way too steep.

Need and lust go hand in hand,
Is our future always damned?
Or this something I can't understand?

She was so sure...

I can beg all night long,
But you'll never hear my song.
Past is past, a tune to sing,
No one knows what the future brings.

See me shine throughout the day,
A leap of faith our future lay.
Seek me out amidst the crowd,
And soon you'll see I'll make you proud.

As man I will stay true,
Build a home for me and you.
It's not just me, it's has to be you too.

She was so sure...

Hi Ares, thank you for commenting on my poem! I appreciate the comment on the "unique" twist. (I'm much glad for!)

    ---YOUR POEM:

    i love the last line.
everything before it was so sure, so steadfast, like you were foolproof that everything would work out, and in one little step everything changed...
