Wonder

by katie T Scott   Mar 11, 2010

I've been rummaging around in these days of late,
To find an emotion that's up to date,
Another day has come so dreamlessly,
To let me live so meaninglessly.

I'll find just one I'm sure I will,
I'll rummage around my head until,
I find a love, a loss, a lead,
To lead me to the soul I need.

To make it through just one more day,
To live my life in a different way,
Truth abandoned and humanity fled,
They left with the marbles in my head.

I walk for miles and miles around,
The plain, transparent, decrepit ground,
That paves the memories in my head,
To help produce a tear to shed.

I can't remember where they went,
Or when they left, or what they meant,
I make a million wishes about,
how I've lost the will to shout.

How I've forgotten to laugh or cry,
What honesty means, or how to lie,
To roam, to plod, to make a tread
On the dirty paths around my head.

I do not smile in morning sun,
Or feel a peace when the day is finally done,
I feel no fear in storm and thunder,
The only thing I know is how to wonder.

This flowed really nicely-good use of word choice throughout as well.
    nice message-5/5
