Snake Eyes

by Kiki   Jun 17, 2004

Into the wretched eyes of the tempting snake I looked,
With resemblance of a bottomless pit,
Seemingly ongoing.
Into the black soul of the cold-blooded creature,
Its unkown depths,
Alluring to the weak and foolish,
Undaunting to the strong and mindful.
Watching as it moved through the sand, grass and twigs.
If one were to blink would it all go away?
This unkown feeling deep inside.
Was it fear or something else?
That cannot be described.
Then it struck with reptilian force,
Like acid flowing through my veins
And fire burning in my chest.
Feeling like hours while being only minutes,
Immense pain.
Finally, freed from its grasp
A sigh of relief was inevitable.
The bruises appeared and never left,
Always showing, scarred.
