I Will Not Love

by Faithless Watermelon   Mar 11, 2010

A heart's freezing and it's black as hell tonight,
And every time you speak your breath turns to ice.
But the words seep though my skin and soothe my sights;
I would love you, but I wont let love entice..

You think you see me but it's only painted glass;
I'm sorry that I can't be conscious for you.
Nothing is the same and broken mirrors call my name,
Covered in the blood of the beast I thought I slew

Just a list of names and the feeling of flames,
Roaring through my veins and rekindling remains.
Can't you see that to me it's all a worthless game;
My carpet has stories for all the bloody stains.

When I walk I feel the world dying behind me,
But you still follow me while I wonder why.
You don't want much but I'll always say maybe,
Because it's my perfect little game in the sky.

    This is a wonderful piece. Great job, I personally think this is perfectly penned. The emotion is awesome and the flow is immaculate. Word choice is excellent here. 5/5
