How to cope with a cop out

by Michael D Nalley   Mar 15, 2010

Some say that blind faith with out a doubt
Is just another way to cop out
Faith is a virtue leading to hope
A gift from love helping us cope
Some wear a copper badge to enforce
The laws that the officials endorse
Leaping without looking may be wrong
Yet the road to peace has been too long
Each and everyone has the right
To pursue what is out of sight
Freedom is a state of the mind
It's not just a dream of the blind
Calling faith dumb is a cop out
You know any ear can hear it shout

I like the message. But I think you can improve the voice of the poem by taking out the rhyme. Just a suggestion, think outside the box, in poetry, rhyming.

It makes me question the nature of faith itself. Is it more ignorant to accept or reject it? but yes, let us have freedom to explore the mysteries that are unseen. well written, great subject, but it reads a little bit choppy, but that may just be me. some word choices seem forced but it conveys the message well.
